Course Description

The Minor in Southeast Asian Studies program is an interdisciplinary and intercultural program that aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the peoples, societies, cultures, politics, international relations, histories, economies, arts, literatures, and languages of Southeast Asia.

Program Learning Outcomes

Develop critical and analytical understanding of issues and challenges confronting Southeast Asian (SEA) countries

Interpret events in the Southeast Asian region using interdisciplinary frameworks, theories and concepts

Produce comparative and interdisciplinary research of societal responses to national and regional issues

Foster a sense of regional solidarity with the peoples of the SEA region

Promote the principles of democracy, sustainable development, and human security in SEA
